Outdoor Electrical Work

All new outdoor electrical circuit installations in England and Wales are classed by law as notifiable works under the building regulations.  This type of electrical work is best undertaken by a registered electrician who will make the appropriate notifications to the local Building Control office issue you with an electrical installation compliance certificate upon completion at no additional cost to you.

The following are installations are just a few examples of notifiable works:

  • new outdoor electrical circuits

  • outdoor security and decorative lighting circuits

  • outdoor sockets

  • outdoor buildings including sheds

  • mains voltage garden lighting and pond pumps

  • hot tubs

Each of these installations must only be undertaken by a qualified and competent electrician otherwise you must organise and have the work registered and inspected by your local building control office at your own expense.  Your safety, that of your friends, family and visitors is paramount, this seems obvious but our electricians witness installations on a daily basis that are dangerous, placing the occupants at serious risk without them even realising it.

We are NICEIC approved contractors which includes this type of work, this means not only that our qualifications are scrutinised but also that a sample of our work is inspected onsite on an annual basis. All outdoor electrical installations must be rated and installed to ensure that your installation remains safe in all weather conditions. You can be assured that all of our work will be expertly installed, meet all current regulations and will be safe for you and your family to use.
